I've been listening to the new Madonna album quite a bit lately and one song just jumps out at me. It's not one of her very best but her lyrics just resonate.

At work and even douring downtime, it's very hard to keep your perspective. Sure, there are moments where you just have to shut up and agree with your client and all that, but there are other times where you have to make a definate stand. I interact with many people on a daily basis but the one thing that I always try to do is keep it real.

Which is why I dont' make it a habit to: (1) pander to foolishness, (2) praise un-necessarily (3) make promises I cannot keep. Is it hard to do? Yes. Very much so, because sometimes I just tend to agree with people just to be nice. It's a hell lot easier. However, people seem to think that they can step all over you because you don't have a mind of your own. So what happends when you speak your mind? Well, that's a double-edged sword too. Because then, I earn the title of this blog. And some people don't take that very well too...just ask my mum.

But just what about that Madonna song that caught me? It's her phrasing, so you can say whatever you want or think whatever you want, I'll just be, well...me.
