Sometimes it's just so hard to drop in a good post...I tried blogging last night but somehow I lost my mojo between an overseas call from a close friend and McDreamy distracting me on TV.

Music on the radio these days is less than inspiring - everyone is either trying to emulate silly American bands like Good Charlotte or A Simple Plan or the British indie bands but without much originality or songwriting talent...but under all this crappy music, you can usually find something good. I'm currently listening to Embrace's new album, This New Day. And yes, although many bands these days echo Coldplay - (here's a trivia nugget: Embrace got some help from Chris Martin on their smash-hit, Gravity), Embrace has certain come into their own. Their songwriting has certainly matured and the songs on this album reflect how the band has grown over the years. And I do love their sound; lush and melodious instead of spare or leaning into the electronic trend. Although it is not as good as 2004's excellent Out of Nothing, the songs on this album certainly reflect my current mood. And none more so than the current single; Natures Law.
